If you wish to reach further then Esoteric has the benefit of a clock input that lifts the player performance much further. Add in a DAC inputs to lift your other sources and a Pre-amp should you wish and you have a class leading package. If that wasn’t enough the Esoteric N-05XD also benefits from a balanced headphone output. If you listen to headphones this output is particularly good – you can easily remove any headphone amp up to £500 and use the inbuilt connections. A winner by every measure.
