A specialist AudioQuest Yukon eight-channel balanced analogue interconnect, designed to connect equipment fitted with a single DB-25 audio connection to eight separate XLR channels.

The DB-25 connector uses the industry-standard Tascam/Digidesign analogue pinout, now standardised as AES59. A single connector therefore carries eight independent balanced mono audio channels, making the cable ideal for multichannel AV processors, power amplifiers, professional audio interfaces, mixing consoles and studio converters.

This is a passive breakout cable—it does not convert or process the signal. Each balanced channel is simply routed between the DB-25 connector and its corresponding numbered XLR connector.

AudioQuest’s Yukon construction uses solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ conductors. Unlike conventional stranded cable, its solid-conductor design avoids electrical interaction between strands. Polyethylene Air-Tube insulation surrounds the signal conductors, while AudioQuest’s carbon-based three-layer Noise-Dissipation System is designed to reduce the amount of radio-frequency interference reaching connected equipment.

Triple-Balanced geometry provides separate positive, negative and ground-reference conductors for each channel, meaning the cable’s shield is not required to act as a signal conductor. The internal conductors are direction-controlled to help manage induced RF noise.

Compatibility notice

This cable uses the analogue Tascam/AES59 DB-25 standard. Buyers should confirm that their equipment uses this pin assignment, as Yamaha-format and certain digital AES/EBU DB-25 connections may be wired differently. It is an audio loom and is not suitable for computer serial-port applications.
