The Exogal Ion is a high-performance, proprietary high-end audio power amplifier and “PowerDAC” expansion created by the Minnesota-based audio boutique Exogal (founded by former engineering veterans of Wadia Digital). It is distinct because it is not a standalone amplifier; it is engineered exclusively to pair with the Exogal Comet DAC. Because the Ion cannot function without its matching digital-to-analogue converter, it was typically purchased alongside the Exogal Comet DAC so you will need one of these to make it function.
